Flights to the southern region of the aggressor country have been limited since February 24 after the start of the war against Ukraine.
The Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia (Rosaviatsia) has extended the ban on flights to the south of the country until July 30. This was reported by the press service of the department on Friday, July 22.
Flights to Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista airports are temporarily restricted.
Russian airlines are recommended to organize the transportation of passengers on alternative routes using the airports of Sochi, Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol and Moscow.
All other airports in the Russian Federation are operating normally.
As you know, flights to the south of Russia have been limited since February 24 after the start of the so-called “special operation” on the territory of Ukraine. Initially, the proposal was valid until March 2, but then Rosavitsia repeatedly extended it.
Recall that on April 11, the European Commission blacklisted 21 Russian airlines, of which the largest are Aeroflot, Russia, Pobeda, UTair, S7. Since then, they have focused on domestic flights, using actual stolen leased aircraft for this.
