The leadership of the unrecognized republic recalled the “invariable vector”, reflected in the results of the 2006 referendum.
The authorities of unrecognized Transnistria intend to seek independence and become part of Russia. This said RIA Novosti “Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic” Vitaly Ignatiev.
“The vector of Pridnestrovie has remained unchanged during the years of the existence of the republic, which can be seen in the results of the referendum on September 17, 2006, which clearly indicated: independence with subsequent free accession to the Russian Federation. Independence of the country is an absolute priority,” he stressed.
Ignatiev added that the leadership of the unrecognized republic will not make decisions “at the expense of half a million people of the country.”
Earlier, NATO said that Russia was trying to destabilize the situation in Moldova, but had no military potential to reach Transnistria.
