On Monday, 19:00, the Digi24 Romanian television channel organized the key elections of the debate between the candidates of the second round of the presidential election: Nikuushur Dan and George Simion.
Despite the fact that the candidate from the AUR right party, George Simion, repeatedly emphasized the importance of open debate and promised to participate in them, he never appeared in the studio.
According to the channel, the invitation was sent in advance, and negotiations with the headquarters of the candidate continued until the start of the air.
Instead of participating in live broadcasts, Simion decided to publish a video shot in his office in the Senate of Romania on social networks.
In this video, he sharply attacked Digi24 journalists, accusing them of bias, bias and violation of journalistic standards.
He also stated that the journalists “tried to give him a fool.” The video was made without the consent of journalists, which caused additional indignation in the media -Media of Romania.
Nikusher Dan, the opponent of the Simion in the second round, came to the debate in time and answers the questions planned for candidates.
