This is the first time that Paris signed a document of such a level in a country where it has no usual boundaries.
Polish prime minister Donald Tusk spoke about the main provisions of the Polish-French agreement, which will be signed on May 9 in Nansi. RMF FM reported it.
As you know, now Tusk is going to Nansi, where, with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron will sign an agreement on improved friendship and cooperation.
In a briefing, before flying to France, the head of Poland government mentioned that this document was a friendship and cooperation. He added that the contract opens “many opportunities in different fields.”
“I’m not hiding that for me the most important issue is the guarantee of security of security. And this reservation about supporting one another in case of attacking one of our countries is the essence of this agreement in terms of our interests,” Tusk said.
According to him, according to the joint decisions of the governments of both the countries and President of France, Emmanuel Macron, the contract should be “completing a certain cycle of history” all the best and “very friendly relationships with Polish-French”, which until now “has not always filled content.”
“With President Macron, we will take various initiatives in favor of a fair world in Ukraine, in favor of strengthening the entire EU defense capabilities and in favor of strengthening the defense of European boundaries,” Tusk added.
He emphasized that Polish-French relationships crowned with this agreement will also be of great importance in strengthening the EU.
According to Tusk, both parties have decided that the “ambitious goals and good intentions” along with the contract will be realized. Therefore, the contract is obliged to the “annual joint meeting of France and Poland governments.”
Poland’s Prime Minister also announced the preparation of other documents and decisions to “make this declaration practical decisions.” The prime minister noted that it would also affect the “defense defense cooperation.”
The new Polish-French contract will be replaced by previous agreements between Poland and France, which signed in 1991 and is recognized as outdated. It covers areas of security, defense, infrastructure and energy.
France’s diplomacy has submitted an agreement as a “premium agreement”. He emphasized that the new agreement was the first agreement that France would sign in the state that it was not a neighbor.
Earlier it was reported that France and Poland would sign a new comprehensive bilateral agreement. It covers issues of defense, energy and economy against the back of threats from the Russian Federation and changes in US policy.
Remember, the “group of five” – Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy and Poland – confirmed unchanged political and military support of our country.
