It is reported that Roskomnadzor obliges search engines to inform users that Wikipedia violates Russian law – until the violations are “removed”.
“On the Internet resource Wikipedia (owned by the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc.), a number of materials recognized as prohibited remain undeleted, including fakes about the course of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine,” the report said.
Roskomnadzor noted that the non-profit organization Wikimedia Foundation has been brought to administrative responsibility in Russia for not removing “illegal information.”
It was previously reported that Wikipedia in Russia refused to remove articles about the war in Ukraine.
Recall that the previous President of Russia Vladimir Putin supported the initiative of the propaganda society Knowledge to create a Russian alternative to Wikipedia.
