At the Netherlands Museum of Boyansa-Wan Beningen in Rotterdam, the child broke a picture of American artist Mark Rotko, one of the major representatives of abstract expressionism. RTL Neuws reported it.
The incident occurred due to caution – the child “Rash” scratched a canvas called “Gray, Orange on Bordeaux, No. 8”. The picture, 2.3 by 2.6 meters in size, was obtained by the 1970s museum and is now estimated to be 40-50 million euros.
Now experts have explored how serious the damage is and if it is possible to completely eliminate them.
Museum representatives are still preventing official comments.
