The use of AI contributes to the digital transformation of production and brings BMW to the concept of the “intellectually connected factory of the future,” said plant leaders.
In the BMW plant in Regensburg, Germany, the Genai4Q pilot project began, where an innovative artificial intelligence system was introduced for individual quality control at the stage of the final assembly of cars. The new tool for examination based on machine study gives you to adapt checks to the specific characteristics of each individual car.
Every 57 seconds, a new car with different types of machines – gasoline, hybrid and full electricity, and for each AI system, creates a personal list of control points, considering a large number of adjustments and options according to individual orders, technical model parameters and production data in real time. Thanks to this, the checks are becoming more effective, faster and more accurate.
The control is carried out using a convenient mobile application -employees receive a list of tasks, may manufacture comments or use of voice input, and the system recognizes speech, transcribing and construction of information by standard.
The Genai4Q project was implemented in collaboration with Munich Startup Datagon Ai. According to the leadership of the plant, the use of AI contributes to the digital transformation of labor and approaches BMW to the concept of “intellectually connected plant.”
Reminding, earlier it was reported that the “most long -range” Electric Model BMW went to work.
