More than 60 employees of the prosecutor’s office and the SBU remained in the occupied territory and working against Ukraine.
The SBU is undergoing a personnel audit. The issue of dismissal of 28 officers is already considered. This was announced on Monday, July 18, by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his video message.
“There is a personnel audit in the service. The issue of dismissal of 28 officers has been decided. Different levels, different directions. But the grounds are the same – unsatisfactory results of the work,” he explained.
Earlier it was learned about the removal of Ivan Bakanov from the post of head of the SBU, the removal of Venediktova from the post of head of the Office of the Prosecutor General. At the same time, according to the president, 651 criminal proceedings were registered under the articles on infidelity and cooperation of employees of the prosecutor’s office, pre -trial investigation bodies and other law enforcement agencies. More than 60 employees of the prosecutor’s office and the SBU remained in the occupied territory and worked against our state. According to Zelensky, this “raises serious questions for relevant leaders.”
The removal of Irina Venediktova and Ivan Bakanov from their posts was the first noticeable rotation in power throughout the period of a massive war with Russia.
Recall that Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on dismissal of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Ivan Bakanov.
