Russian leader Vladimir Putin ordered a call for military service in April-July by 2025 160 thousand Russians. The corresponding order was published in the official portal of legal information by the Russian Federation on Monday, March 31.
“To perform from April 1 to July 15, 2025 a draft for the military service of the Russian Federation citizens aged 18 to 30 years, which is out of stock and subject … I will call for military service, for 160 thousand people,” the document said.
It was also ordered to free soldiers, sailors, sergeants and foremen from the military service, which expired the military period.
In this regard, the Moscow Times has announced that the future campaign will be the largest over the past 14 years. A large number of recruits were last recorded in 2011 – 203 thousand people. Since 2012, the number of spring and fall calls has not exceeded 155.5 thousand recruits. For comparison, in the spring of 2021, 134,650 people were sent to the army, and in the fall of the same year – 127,500 people.
During the first year of the war with Ukraine, 134,500 people were sent to the spring service, 120 thousand in the fall. However, in 2023, 147 thousand called troops in spring, and 130 thousand in the fall. In 2024, this dynamic continued: the spring call reached 150 thousand people, autumn – 133 thousand.
As you know, on January 1, 2024, amendments to the draft system in the Russian Federation army implemented – the maximum age for drafting for military service increased to 30 years.
Also in Russia, fines related to stirring will increase twelve -two times. The failure to appear on the agenda in the military register and enlistment office will be penalized by a fine of up to 50 thousand rubles. A fine for a little importance to military commissariats – up to 500 thousand rubles.
