The duties of 25% will be introduced next week, and they will handle all the cars gathered outside the states.
US president Donald Trump has signed a mandate in the introduction of duties for 25% for cars collected outside the United States. On Wednesday, March 26, the Reuters reported.
“What we do is 25% of the role in all cars made not in the United States,” Trump said and added that the duties start at a base rate of 2.5%.
According to Trump, they will enter the force on April 2, the United States will begin to raise money on April 3.
The US president assured that if parts were made in America and no car, these parts would not be taxed.
Trump also made sure that the duties would act until the end of his term.
“We will do this for all countries, and we will make it soft. I think people will be surprised. In many cases, it is less than the tariff they have imposed on us for decades. Therefore, I think people will be very surprised,” the White House head.
Trump also assured that Elon Musk did not advise him on car tariffs and did not ask the president to help with electric vehicles or others.
Previously, Donald Trump said US authorities would introduce a fee of 25% from those from those countries to buy oil or gas from Venezuela on April 2. At the same time, he said he could release some countries from tariffs if he considered it necessary.
