The Russian Federation has completely withdrawn its troops from the territory of the Kiev and Chernihiv regions of Ukraine. This was announced on April 6 at a briefing by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, BBC News reports.
“We are not observing Russian troops in Kyiv, Chernihiv or nearby,” he said.
Earlier this information was disclosed by a senior US Department of Defense official.
“Russian forces near Kyiv and Chernigov have completed their departure from the area for reunification and re-equipment in Belarus and Russia,” a Pentagon spokesman said.
Recall that the US Department of Defense said that Ukraine could win the war, because Russian President Vladimir Putin did not achieve his strategic goals.
