In the Netherlands, municipalities are forced to abandon Ukrainian refugees in a shelter from the absence of places for accommodation.
According to the local NOS publication, municipal centers for the placement of Ukrainians were crowded for several months.
This week in Amsterdam, we were forced to abandon dozens who were left without a roof over their heads, as a week earlier, ”says the adviser to the municipality of Amsterdam Rutger Grozhni, who is engaged in social problems and refugees.
According to him, it is also impossible to send refugees to other cities, since at present there are less than 35 seats throughout the country, and the filling level is 99.8%.
The publication writes that the subsidy, which the municipalities receive for a place to receive refugees, decreased from 61 to 44 euros per day at the beginning of this year. This makes it almost impossible, especially for small municipalities in order to maintain a reception point without the need to add money on your own.
During three quarters of participating municipalities, the actual cost of one place of admission is from 55 to 60 euros per day, in a letter in four large cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Hague) write in their letter.
For such a city as Hague, this means not to receive 4 million euros per year. Thus, the state deliberately and illegally violates the agreement that municipalities receive adequate financing to fulfill their tasks.
Meanwhile, the Red Cross of the Netherlands noted that refugees from Ukraine are increasingly asking for an organization for help. In December and January, more than 200 Ukrainians knocked on the door, asking them to give them shelter. In February, there were already more than 400.
Of these, 18 people reported that they spent at least one night on the street, ”the representative of the organization Daniel Brauver. It is also much more than in the previous months.
Currently, 120,000 820 Ukrainians have been registered in the Netherlands. Of these, 93 thousand 770 are in municipal refugee centers. The factor of filling in municipal centers was almost 100%for several months.
