The terms of the agreement will not leave Russia little chance to attack Ukraine’s ports, believes the head of the Foreign Ministry.
Negotiations to unblock Ukraine’s ports are in the final stages. This was announced by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in an interview with Forbes, published on Monday, July 18.
“We understand the political framework. It remains to resolve issues related to logistics and security. Yesterday, the delegations and negotiating teams largely removed these issues. Now it all has to be put on paper, ”he said.
At the same time, Kuleba stressed that Ukraine does not agree with any decision that would leave any room for the possibility of a frontal attack on Ukrainian ports from the sea of the Russian Federation.
The Foreign Ministry chief said he saw only one argument as to why Putin would allow the ports to be unblocked.
“It is his desire to show countries neutral or more inclined to Russia’s position in the war (in Africa, Asia) that he has saved them from starvation, from rising food prices. Otherwise, I do not understand whether why he might be By agreeing to unblock Ukrainian ports, he is undermining his own efforts to strangle the Ukrainian economy, ”he added.
Kuleba suggested that Putin is now on one side of the scale – Russia’s reputation for Asian and African countries, and on the other hand – not allowing Ukraine to make money.
Earlier it was reported that plans to restore the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea provide partial demining of Ukraine’s ports and approach to them, a ceasefire for the passage of caravans of ship with grain.
