The President signed the bill No. 11392, which allows you to buy Russian reactors in Bulgaria to complete the two units of the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant.
The Anti -Corruption Committee of the Council previously stated that the bill does not meet the requirements of anti -corruption legislation.

The document defines the legal principles of procurement, taking into account the strategic importance of nuclear energy and the need to compensate for the lost opportunities through the occupation of the NPP Zaporizhja and Russian missile attacks.
Half a year ago, on September 11, 2024, the Bulgarian parliament extended the sales time for Ukraine, which was previously intended for the Bellen APP project for 180 days from the date of entry into force of this decision. It was published on September 13 in Bulgaria on September 13 – therefore, the conditions for negotiations were left on March 11.
The same date was called the chairman of the Energy Committee of Verkhovna Rada Andriy Gerus and the Minister of Energy of Germany Galushchenko before vote for the law on the acquisition of reactors in Bulgaria.
Verkhovna Rada approved the law on February 11, the president received it for signing on February 26.
