Washington aims to appeal to a Truce on the Russian side, the head of the US State Department added.
State Secretary Mark Rubio made a statement following the meeting of Ukraine and USA representatives in Saudi Arabia on March 11.
“Today we have made a proposal accepted by the Ukrainians, especially: to end a ceasefire agreement and begin the immediate conversation to end this conflict in a long and stable world and consider their interests, their safety, the ability to develop as a nation,” the American official assured.
Washington is now aiming to apply this proposal to the Russian side, the head of the US State Department added.
“We hope they are (Russians, – Ed.) They will say “yes” to the world. Now the ball is beside them. But, I repeat, the purpose of the President (Donald Trump, – Ed.) There is only one – first of all, he wants the war to end. And in my opinion, now Ukraine has taken a specific step in this direction. We hope the Russians will make the same decision, ”the United States Secretary added.
According to him, the only way to stop this war is to end it through negotiations, as the decision of this war military “does not exist.”
“It is clearly transferred to the Russians by many channels.
The Trump administration’s representative said the parties also discussed the exchange of prisoners and other issues.
The United States Secretary admitted that when it comes to discussions on how to end this conflict, “it will be necessary to solve many issues, which are problems with humane, children, war inmates, all that, unfortunately, accompany these conflicts, are not the last place.”
“But the number of goodwill is the number one that we see from the Russians is to see Ukraine’s proposal and answer it,” Rubio completed.
Earlier in the city of Gidd in Saudi Arabia, negotiations of Ukraine and USA delegations began.
