In the company, the changes take place in the hope of surviving the crisis and returning Nissan to the path of steady development.
Japanese car manufacturer Nissan has announced changes to the staff of large people aimed at updating management and ensuring long -term growth of the company. From April 1, 2025, Ivan Espinoza will be Nissan’s new general director, who is currently in the position of the planning director. He will replace Makoto Uchidu, which has been chairing the company since 2019.
Uchida arrived in the post of crisis after a scandal with Carlos Gon and was able to strengthen the business in 2022-2023. However, 2024 became difficult for Nissan: the company suffered a fall on sales, its financial results did not survive expectations, labor and staff were reduced, and the potential alliance with Honda did not occur. In this regard, Nissan Board of Directors Chairman Yasushi Kimur said the company needs a new management team to return to growth.
In addition to the Escinosa appointment, the changes affect the executive committee. The Guillaume Cartier, head of the Regional Committee of Amieo, will receive expanded powers, including global marketing and contact with clients. Eyichi Akashi will be the main technical director, replacing Kunio Okaguro, and Teiji Hirat will take the Chief Production Director post, which is responsible for managing production processes and equipment. The financial director of Jeremy Pappen also received the status of an executive director.
Some leaders, including ASACO Hoshino (director for brand and clients) and Hideaki Vatanabe (director for approach and corporate issues), will leave their posts on March 31. Uchida and Sakamoto will save places in the council of directors until the annual shareholders in June.
We remind you, earlier it was reported that German giant would not return to the Russian market.
