The end of the US exchange of intelligence and restriction on accessing satellite images can significantly weaken Ukraine’s defense.
President Donald Trump’s decision to stop transferring intelligence data struck Ukraine’s ability to control the battlefield situation, monitor the large -scale movement of Russian troops and possible wind strikes. This was reported by a business insider with a reference to a member of the comment of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Sergey Rachmanin.
Stopping the US exchange of intelligence and the restriction of accessing satellite images can weaken the country’s protection from Russian missile attacks, and monitoring of Russian troops and equipment are also complicated.
US officials have previously confirmed that Washington has stopped moving intelligence to Kyiv. This decision was made after Trump suspended military assistance in Ukraine after an conflicting meeting at an oval office with President Vladimir Zelensky.
The Trump administration prevented the access of Ukrainian accounts in satellite images. American company Maxar, who provided this data from KYIV, has confirmed that this decision has a direct impact on its activities.
“Intelligence is one of the most important things Ukraine has received from the United States,” Rachmanin said and added that the “most painful issue” for Kyiv was the loss of accessing satellite images.
