Next week in Canada, which presides on the G7 on a rotary basis, a summit of foreign ministers in Quebec will be held.
Negotiations on the development of a joint statement on marine issues of the United States insist on strengthening the wording of China, while at the same time softening the wording of Russia, agency sources said.
In addition to the veto proposal of Canada, to create a working group for monitoring sanctions violations, the G7 application project, which was introduced by Bloomberg News, indicates that the United States insisted on removing the words “sanctions”, as well as the formulation of “Russia’s ability” in Ukraine.
In the compositions of security in the sea, the United States insisted directly on China, in particular, referring to the risk of “life and means of existence” caused by its actions in order to “ensure illegal sea claims”, its air maneuvers and, in particular, in the Southern Chinese Sea.
Washington also opens against references to the stability of the marine corps, as well as against the efforts to create a marine observatory to track changes in the border. This is a key question in sea conflicts around the world, including in the South China Sea.
American diplomats informed their colleagues that this step is associated with the revaluation of Washington in multilateral organizations that “make it incapable of joining any new initiatives,” sources said.
The G7 Communist is not final until a consensus is published, and negotiations can still lead to significant changes before or during the summit.
