The rising wave of cases led to new restrictions this week in parts of the country.

An outbreak of COVID-19 was recorded in China. The daily number of detected infections rose to its highest level in seven weeks. On Saturday, July 16, according to Bloomberg.

The outbreak was recorded in the central, northwestern and southern provinces of the country.

China reported 450 infections on July 15, the most since May 25, with most cases being found in Anhui and Gansu, according to the National Health Commission. In Shanghai, which survived a week -wide citywide quarantine, 33 cases were recorded.

At the same time, authorities in Lanzhou, the capital of northwestern Gansu province, have ordered 4.4 million residents to stay home since Wednesday, and since Friday, the county in Anhui province has been closed.

Beihai in the southern region of Guangxi on Saturday also announced mandatory quarantine in two districts with a population of more than 800,000 people.

“Currently, the situation in epidemic prevention and control in Beihai City is serious and difficult, and the risk of latent transmission in society is relatively high,” the government said in a statement.

Recall that an expert group of immunologists recommends that the Ministry of Health of Ukraine approve another booster dose of vaccination against COVID-19 for certain specific categories of the population.

In this regard, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, called on governments around the world to restore the mask regime, as the number of deaths from COVID-19 continues to grow.
