In January 2025, the uninitiated vehicles of the small radius of action became the leading cause of the death and wounds of civilians in Ukraine. According to the UN Monitoring Mission for Human Rights in Ukraine (MMPCHU), the said drones include the deaths of 38 people (27% of the total number of victims) and the damage to 223 people (30% of the total number of victims ).
It makes FPV thrones the most dangerous type of weapons for the civilian population for this time.
According to the UN, most of the victims in the civilian population from attacking FPV thrones were recorded in Kherson, where they caused 70% of those killed in January. Significant civic losses were recorded in Kharkov, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Nikolaev, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya. These regions are regularly attacked because of their proximity to the war zone and the active use of the non -war -war technology of both parties in the war.
MMPCHU’s note that the use of small radius drones in the war increased dramatically, leading to a sharp increase in losses in civilians. FPV weeping are used as a weapon with high accuracy capable of whipping specific goals with minimal costs. However, their use in population areas leads to many victims to civilians.
In total, from the beginning of the entire -scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the UN recorded 12,605 dead civilians and 29,178 were injured. At the same time, the organization’s note that real numbers may be higher, as many cases cannot be confirmed due to limited access to the occupied territories.
Ukrainian authorities encourage the inhabitants of the front areas to be as careful as possible and to respond quickly to air anxiety signals.
