The European Investment Bank will allocate money to restore critical infrastructure and implement energy efficiency.
Ukraine and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have concluded agreements that provide for financing for the restoration of energy and critical infrastructure. This was reported by the government’s press service on Monday, February 10.
The signing of the agreements took place at the meeting, prime minister Denis Shmygal with EIB president Nadia Kalvinho, who arrived at Kyiv today.
According to the first agreement, the 16.5 million euros will allocate the EIB to restore critical infrastructure and implement energy efficiency.
The second agreement opens the way for obtaining 100 million euros to restore water, heat supply and canal facilities, as well as to modernize major social services in the field of education, health care and sector of Housing.
Overall, the EIB project portfolio in Ukraine is one of the largest and consists of 25 projects in the amount of 4.95 billion euros in the field of transportation, social infrastructure and energy.
“Since the beginning of an entire war, the EIB has mobilized more than 2 billion euros to support Ukraine. Thanks to the significant contribution to strengthening the stability and development of our state,” Shmygal said.
Note that in December last year, the EIB gave Ukraine € 55 million to restore schools, hospitals, housing and critical infrastructure in 12 regions.
Earlier, the EIB launched a credit program of over € 1 billion for Ukrainian small and medium -sized businesses.
