This is Lammy’s second visit to Ukraine following her appointment at the Foreign Minister of Britain’s post in July 2024.
British Foreign Minister David Lammy arrived during a visit to Kyiv. This was announced by the Ukraine ambassador to Britain Valery Zaluzhny on Telegram on Wednesday, February 5.
“I invite State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Great Britain David Lammy on Ukrainian Land. We talk about additional cooperation and joint projects to strengthen Ukraine’s security,” the diplomat wrote.
This is Lammy’s second visit to Ukraine following her appointment at the Foreign Minister of Britain’s post in July 2024. During her visit, she will meet with President Vladimir Zelensky and other members of the government.
The British government said Lammy would announce the allocation of another 55 million pounds (about $ 68.7 million) of financial support.
As part of the new help, Britain will provide 3 million pounds for the continuation of the Ukrainian grain supply and other food products in Syria. Another 17 million pounds will go to innovative energy projects, 10 million – to help continue the business in Ukrainian and 25 million to support public services.
The British Foreign Ministry noted that the country has allocated 977 million pounds to support Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s entire -scale invasion.
