A resident of temporarily occupied Donetsk, Maxim Timofeev, was found “guilty” by the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don in the case of allegedly blowing up locomotives at the Melitopol depot. The Russians sentenced the Ukrainian to 20 years in a maximum security colony with the first three years in prison, as well as a 600 thousand ruble fine. It was reported Interfax in the court press service.
Russian investigators say that the resident of Donetsk agreed to “order” to blow up the locomotives on the territory of the Melitopol depot. He allegedly removed improvised explosive devices from hiding places and detonated them at the depot on April 5 and 21, as well as on June 12, 2023, resulting in the destruction of three locomotives and a passenger car. Maxim Timofeev was detained on August 22, 2023.
The man was convicted of “joining a terrorist organization; terrorist attack; illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transmission or transportation of explosives or explosive devices.”
As we already wrote, last year a female programmer from Russian Novosibirsk was sentenced to 12 years in prison for transferring money to Ukraine.
