After occupying the settlements of Neskuchnoye and Vremovka in the Donetsk region, Russian troops focused their attention on Velikaya Novoselka and began active assault operations to capture the village.
Analysts of the Ukrainian project DeepState wrote about this on the evening of January 23 in their Telegram.
According to DeepState, the Russians have a fairly flexible operational space for conducting offensive actions, and, having accumulated resources for this, implement them from different points of the locality.
The tactical situation around Velikaya Novoselka can no longer be changed, DeepState believes.
It is noted that after the occupation of Neskuchny and Vremovka in recent days, the enemy focused its attention on the village and began active assault operations to capture it.
The Defense Forces are making every effort to prevent the enemy from advancing and occupying the village, but it is difficult to do this under pressure from literally all sides. Time will tell how events will develop, but we hope that the current tactical situation around Velyka Novoselka will not become a reason for senseless losses of Ukrainian military personnel. It is already impossible to change it – it’s too late, the osinters explain.
The enemy infantry is most active in the eastern outskirts of the village and, unfortunately, has had some success in advancing. The enemy has been accumulating personnel for these maneuvers for quite a long period of time, building fortifications in order to gain a foothold there, and now is exerting constant pressure, taking advantage of the occupied positions.
The pressure continues on the southern outskirts of Velikaya Novoselka, as well as from Vremivka on the western side of Velikaya Novoselka. Enemy infantry is located in different parts of the village and carries out assault operations in groups of an average of 10 people. For reinforcement, the Muscovites have fire support in the form of equipment, aviation, in particular helicopters, as well as artillery, mortars, and drones,” the message says.
The settlement of Bolshaya Novoselka is located in the Donetsk region and belongs to the Novopavlovsk direction. Over the past week, fighting there has intensified.
On January 21, the Ukrainian Defense Forces reported that the occupiers were trying to break through the defenses on the outskirts of the village. During battles, the enemy does not take losses into account.
