Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of December 31, 2024 No. 1558 clarified the rules for granting deferments for education applicants and teaching staff.
In particular, students of vocational, professional higher and higher educational institutions, interns and doctoral students will receive a deferment for the entire semester, but not more than six months (September-February and March-August). Previously, this period was three months.
Teachers will have a deferment until the end of the academic year, which lasts from September 1 to August 31 (unless otherwise established by the Regulations on the organization of the educational process of the relevant institution). To do this, they must be employed at a rate of at least 0.75, which is confirmed by the educational plans of the institution.
Vacations and the end of the school year are not grounds for losing the right to a deferment. Changes to the resolution are aimed at simplifying the procedure and reducing the burden on TCC and SP employees, who previously had to process a huge number of documents every three months.
