Ukrainian SOF fought a fierce battle with the North Koreans in the Kursk region of Russia.
Soldiers of the 8th Special Forces Regiment named after. Prince Izyaslav Mstislavich, together with the Ukrainian Armed Forces infantry, held back the hostile offensive for more than eight hours with small arms and grenade launchers. Ukrainian snipers also worked. The command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook on January 22.
By nine hours into the battle, the CCO group had only a third of its ammunition left, because they had spent the rest destroying the enemy. Therefore, the decision was made to exfiltrate – this is a military tactic to quickly remove a group from the battlefield to a safe place. Ukrainian special forces harmoniously entered the two Humvees.
During the battle, 21 North Korean soldiers were killed and 40 wounded as they advanced on Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region.
Let us remind you that recently in the Kursk region, Russian fighters from the DPRK launched an attack on the positions of fighters of the 6th regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. I fought with the enemies until the night. During the clash, 17 North Koreans were killed, one of them blew himself up with a grenade.
