Documents signed in his first hours in office include pardoning rioters, blocking decisions of the previous administration and returning the Diet Coke order button.

US President Donald Trump, in the first hours of his presidency on Monday, January 20, signed a series of executive orders in front of thousands of his fans at the Capital One Arena in Washington. In particular, he reversed dozens of decisions made by the previous administration and pardoned his supporters who were convicted of storming the Capitol, the Wall Street Journal reports.

So, Trump signed an order on a full pardon of 1.5 thousand people who were convicted of the attack on the Capitol in January 2021.

“I expect them to be fired as soon as possible,” Trump said.

In addition, he signed an executive order to reverse 78 decisions made during Joe Biden’s presidency. In particular, he blocked various departments from issuing regulatory documents until the new administration took full control of the government. He also froze all federal contracts, except for military contracts and some key areas, and required federal employees to return to full-time work.

In addition, Trump ordered to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, which regulates measures to reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Trump also returned the Diet Coke order button to the Oval Office.

Before this, Trump signed his first orders in the presidential office at the Capitol, which involved the appointment of dozens of officials, as well as the raising of the flag.

Trump had previously said that on his first day back in the White House he would pardon the rioters. He also named among his priority plans the abolition of automatic citizenship and the prosecution of offenders.
