People should feel that no status or any merit of yesterday cancels the rule of law, the president believes.
Mistakes in the leadership of military brigades require investigation and a fair response. President Vladimir Zelensky said this in an evening speech, commenting on the detention of generals accused of not defending the Kharkiv region.
According to him, it is important for people to feel that no status or any merit of yesterday cancels the rule of law.
“The Security Service of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, the National Police, the prosecutor’s office do a good job about justice in Ukraine, especially in military matters, and “military commissars”, and situations like of the Kharkov region, when the Russian army tried to occupy our land and re-enter Kharkov, and criminal mistakes in the management of the brigades – all this requires investigation and fair answers,” emphasized Ukrainian head of state.
As we already wrote, law enforcement officers detained two generals and a colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who did not provide sufficient protection for the Kharkov region during the offensive of the Russian army in May 2024.
Let’s add that at the beginning of May 2024, the Russians launched an attack on the Kharkov region. They managed to capture several villages, mainly in the “gray zone,” and began to fight for the city of Volchansk.
