Ukrainian enterprises supplied Russia with microchips for missiles and drones.
The SBU exposed companies in the Kharkov, Chernivtsi and Odessa regions that, during a full-scale invasion, bypassing international sanctions, were supplying electronic components to the aggressor country for the production of missiles and drones. We are talking about companies that are part of a large international corporation, which was founded in Russia and produces unique microchips and electronic boards. The Security Service of Ukraine reported this on January 20.
These parts are used in the navigation and control systems of ballistic and cruise missiles of the X-101, Caliber and Iskander-K types. Also, some of these boards are also used for guidance systems for kamikaze drones and multiple launch rocket launchers. Tornado-G” and on-board navigation of the Ka-52 attack and reconnaissance helicopter.
It was established that the defendants developed a plan for the systematic supply of electronic components from Ukraine to Russia, bypassing sanctions. They bought products in Ukraine and sent them to a controlled company in the Middle East. From there the chips went to Russia.
In particular, parts were supplied to enterprises operating within the structure of the military-industrial complex of Russia, in particular JSC SpetsTechMash.
The SBU emphasized that in the summer of 2022 alone, participants in the scheme transported to the Russian Federation more than 1.5 thousand items of microelectronics alone for a total amount of over 600 thousand dollars.
One of the defendants has already been detained. He was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 28, part 1 art. 111-2 (aiding and abetting the aggressor state committed by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The perpetrator faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Let us recall that at the end of last year it became known that Russia is expanding the production of drones at the Alabuga plant in Tatarstan. Two additional buildings and ground passages were built on the territory of the enterprise, which increased the area of the complex by 55%.
