Ukraine has the capacity and ability to create anti-aircraft systems. We are currently working on our own air defense system.
Work continues in Ukraine to create its own Ukrainian air defense complex, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky. The general spoke about this in an interview with TSN.Tizhden.
“During the Soviet era, we actually produced all the control systems for anti-aircraft systems, that is, we had the capacity and ability to create, and were working on the production of our own air defense system in inside the country,” explained Syrsky.
When asked if Ukraine could have its own analogue of the Patriot air defense system, the general said: “I hope that its characteristics will not be worse than the Patriot.”
Regarding Russian missiles, Oreshnik, the commander-in-chief called them a threat.
“And currently, only a few air defense systems can intercept it, unfortunately, we don’t have it yet, but we have to do everything to show them,” he added.
At the same time, the general explained, Oreshnik encourages Ukraine to create its own anti-missile system and actively negotiate with partners to receive an appropriate complex from them.
Note that it was earlier that Britain would finance the production of air defense.
The Telegraph recently predicted major problems with the Ukrainian air defense.
