Basic combined arms training is mandatory for all Ukrainian students.
Students who do not pass the BZIN exam or refuse the oath will not be able to continue their studies in higher educational institutions. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Sergei Melnik in a video published on the YouTube channel of the Ministry of Defense.
It is mandatory for everyone. And if students, for some reason, cannot pass the exam or pass it “failingly,” if they refuse to take the military oath, they will not be able to study at higher educational institutions in the future,” he noted.
According to him, Ukrainian citizens who, without basic combined arms training and who would like to find a job for the first time, will not be able to get a job in the civil service, in local government and in the prosecutor’s office.
Let us remind you that basic combined arms training (BZIN) for students will start in September 2025 and will amount to 300 academic hours, 90 hours of theory in educational institutions and 210 hours of practice in military units and centers.
All students must take the theory. But the practical course is mandatory only for men who are fit for military service due to health reasons.
