A chairlift has collapsed at the Astun ski resort in Spain, injuring around 30 people. RTVE reported this on Saturday, January 18.
One of the chairlift’s cables was reportedly hanging, causing part of the structure to fall. In total, about 30 people were injured, 17 of whom required medical attention. Three people, including two 18-year-old girls, were taken to hospital by helicopter.
Five helicopters, a fire brigade and 14 ambulances were involved in the rescue operation.
Earlier it was reported that in Nigeria, an aircraft accidentally bombed two villages. The military reported the destruction of targets in these villages, but did not mention civilian casualties.
