The People’s Deputy of Ukraine organized the men to illegally cross the border.
A member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Transport and Infrastructure in 2022-2023 sent letters to the State Border Service with a request to allow 23 citizens to travel abroad as “drivers” to accompany him. However, some of these people left and returned on their own, and three did not return to Ukraine at all. The Office of the Prosecutor General announced this on January 18 on Telegram.
The parliamentarian has already been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border) and 1 Art. 366 (forgery of documents) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Searches are currently ongoing at the home of the suspect and other persons involved.
The UCP did not name the person involved. However, Ukrayinska Pravda writes that we are talking about the people’s deputy from Batkivshchyna, Konstantin Bondarev.
We would like to remind you that the former people’s deputy from the Party of Regions and Opposition for Life, Vadim Novinsky, was charged with treason and inciting religious hatred because he was in direct contact with the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Kirill and disseminated propaganda in religious communities of EU countries.
