In Turkey, 14 Uzbek citizens died because of fake alcohol

Since the beginning of the year, police have confiscated more than 32 tons of fake alcohol and detained nine suspects after a mass poisoning.

In Turkey, 14 citizens of Uzbekistan died as a result of drinking fake alcohol in the last three days. This was announced by the spokesman of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, Ahror Burkhanov, as reported by RosSMI.

Referring to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Ankara, he noted that three citizens of the country are being treated in the intensive care units of hospitals in Istanbul. They are in serious condition.

It is known that since the beginning of the year, the police have confiscated more than 32 tons of fake alcohol and nine suspects have been arrested after the widespread poisoning. In Turkey, 88 people were poisoned by fake alcohol, 37 of them died.

Let’s remember that a few years ago in the province of Alborz in northern Iran, 15 people died as a result of poisoning from alternative alcohol.

Mass poisoning and deaths due to the use of surrogate alcohol have also been reported in the Odessa region.
