In the Sumy region, not far from one of the villages, an enemy missile was discovered shot down by the Defense Forces, which did not explode during the fall.
This was reported by the press service of the Sumy region police.
After examining the missile, employees of the explosives department of the Sumy police determined that it was a Russian air-to-ground cruise missile X-101, with a warhead weighing 400 kg.
A mobile group of police explosives specialists neutralized the missile warhead and took it away from human habitations for destruction, said Igor Chernyak, head of the explosives service of the Main Directorate of Police in the Sumy region.
The police remind that in case of detection of any ammunition, suspicious objects similar to ammunition or their remains, especially bombs, unmanned aerial vehicles of various types, missiles or parts thereof:
- Under no circumstances should you come close to or touch them;
- The first thing to do in this case is to move away from the find at least a hundred meters and report it to the authorities, military or police by calling line 102.
