Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed by phone with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin the creation of corridors in the Black Sea for grain exports. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the TRT World TV channel.
“Turkish President Erdogan, in a telephone conversation with Russian President Putin, discussed the establishment of security corridors for grain exports to the Black Sea,” the TV channel reported.
In addition, according to TRT World, the presidents of Turkey and Russia touched on the situation in Ukraine, as well as the situation in Syria.
For its part, the agency Anadolu report that Erdogan said in a telephone conversation that “the time has come for the UN to take steps along the security corridors in the Black Sea for grain exports.”
The Turkish president also spoke about the need to resolve the situation in Ukraine and reiterated Ankara’s readiness to “do everything possible” to facilitate it.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary General António Guterres discussed options for unblocking Ukrainian grain exports in a telephone conversation.
