The Air Force responded to the scandal by transferring aviation engineering specialists to the infantry.
The PS command stated that specialists from the aviation engineering service will not be transferred to other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This also applies to other skills in short supply, as well as to those who studied abroad using Western technology. The corresponding statement appeared on the Telegram of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Considering the resonance in the media about the transfer of aviation engineering service specialists to units of other branches and branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, I officially inform you that such transfers will not be carried out! This also applies to other specialties that are in short supply in the air force. Also, we are not talking about the transfer of people who studied abroad to Western equipment of anti-aircraft missile forces, trained soldiers in the calculations of mobile fire groups, and other highly specialized specialists, for whom it is objectively difficult to find a replacement, the message says.
At the same time, the command added that the situation at the front “requires difficult decisions from the top military leadership.” And she emphasized that the air force “has been strengthening its fighting brothers on the front line for several years now.” The statement indicates that “a certain number of personnel” are being gradually transferred to ground units.
Let us remind you that a scandal arose in the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Aviation technicians from the 114th PS Brigade are asking for publicity due to the situation that has arisen with the transfer of personnel to the infantry. Previously, 250 people from the brigade were taken to the front, now another 218 are planned. The military is sounding the alarm because there will be no one to service the aircraft.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that it was not planned and is not planned to transfer to infantry units the acutely shortage of specialists from the aviation engineering service of the Air Force, servicing aircraft.
