Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will not visit Kyiv at the invitation of President Vladimir Zelensky to discuss gas transit. This was stated by the Vice Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, Tibor Gašpar, in a comment to Russian TASS on Tuesday, January 14.
“Yesterday, the head of the government Fico published an open letter to Zelensky and invited him to the negotiations that he has to go to Kyiv on Friday, I think it will not happen.
Fico invited Zelensky to a meeting to resolve gas transit problems.
He added that he did not intend to respond to Zelensky’s statement on Sunday, January 12, as he did not intend to “further increase tensions.”
“I want to fully focus on solving the situation related to the suspension of gas transit,” he emphasized.
The head of the Slovak government called on the Ukrainian side to actively participate in further gas negotiations and in the work of a special working group.

Let’s remember that two days ago Robert Fico harshly criticized Zelensky as an “unreliable partner” and that he allegedly “begged” all over Europe in search of money and “blackmailed others.”
