European gas is becoming cheaper amid the fact that a gas turbine will soon return to the Russian Federation after repairs, which are necessary for pumping gas through the Nord Stream pipeline.

The gas price exchange on the ICE Futures site fell sharply at the beginning of trading on July 11. RBC writes about it.

The value of the August futures contract at the TTF hub in the Netherlands dropped 12%, reaching € 154 per 1 MWh, or $ 1,639.5 per 1,000 cubic meters. m, taking into account the current exchange rate in the Forex market.

It was noted that European gas is becoming cheaper against the background of the fact that the gas turbine of the German company Siemens will soon return to Russia, which is necessary for pumping gas through the Nord Stream pipeline. The equipment was repaired in a factory in Canada and could not be returned due to sanctions against Russia.

Recall that supplies through the Nord Stream gas pipeline are suspended for ten days from July 11 to July 21. Preventive shutdowns for gas pipeline maintenance are conducted once a year and affect the entire production chain. and gas delivery.

It was also reported that Ukraine failed in Canada’s decision to return to Germany the Nord Stream-1 turbines repaired by Siemens Canada and asked the government to cancel it.
