People’s Deputy from the banned OPZZh Nestor Shufrich, suspected of high treason, received the right to again perform the work of a parliamentarian.
The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv granted him the right to exercise deputy powers. Previously, Shufrich filed a petition stating that he wants to fulfill his parliamentary powers. The deputy is currently in jail. People’s Deputy Alexey Goncharenko spoke about this, who published a copy of the resolution on Telegram.
It is noted that the court refused to allow Shufrich to physically participate in the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada. However, Themis ordered that he be given the right to exercise parliamentary powers during his stay in the pre-trial detention center. The court also sent the ruling to the Verkhovna Rada for consultations.
Goncharenko informed that, according to the regulations, the people’s deputy can vote for bills only in the session hall. That is, Shufrich will not be able to vote.
I wonder how this issue will be resolved… Theoretically, he can participate online, for example, in Committee meetings. Or submit bills and resolutions through assistants,” Shufrich noted.
We would like to remind you that people’s deputy from the now banned OPZZh Nestor Shufrich was informed of suspicion for financing the National Guard in Crimea. The investigation established that in the summer of 2013, the people’s deputy purchased real estate in the Crimean resort village of Simeiz from persons affiliated with Viktor Medvedchuk. To conceal this fact, he registered the property to a company controlled by him and his authorized representative.
After the occupation of Crimea, the people’s deputy entered into an agreement with the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Okhrana of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to protect his real estate.
