The demobilization bill needs at least three months to be finalized and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada.
The First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, General Ivan Gavrilyuk, stated this at a parliamentary meeting, the Espresso publication reports.
According to Gavrilyuk, the bill has already been worked out and is almost ready to be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. However, in order for this law to be passed on, the Ministry of Defense is working on a number of mechanisms to understand “how it is possible to replace a larger number of people who will be subject to demobilization – with whom or what”:
That is, new forms and methods of conducting combat operations are being developed. To be honest, we need at least three more months to work on this. Or if you submit a law, then the demobilization period will not be determined from the moment of adoption of this law.
The bill focuses on rotation of frontline units. Discussions are underway about demobilization, said People’s Deputy, Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, SBU Colonel Roman Kostenko.
