Trump reiterated that Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine “shouldn’t have happened” and that it wouldn’t start if he were president.
US President-elect Donald Trump believes the meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin before the inauguration was pointless.
When asked about a possible meeting with the Kremlin owner, Trump told a press conference that he “knows that Putin wants to meet.”
“I don’t think it’s worth meeting until January 20, although I don’t like it, after all, not a day has passed that countless young people, countless soldiers have been killed,” he added.
Trump again said that Russia’s all-out war in Ukraine “should never have started” and that it would not have started if he were president.
It is worth noting that during the election campaign, Trump repeatedly boasted of his good relationship with the head of the Kremlin. He also repeatedly promised to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours if elected.
Let’s remember that Trump considers ending the war in Ukraine as his top priority after taking office.
