Trump invited Xi Jinping to the United States for his inauguration on January 20. However, according to media reports, the Chinese leader will not attend Trump’s inauguration.
United States President-elect Donald Trump said he has been in contact with Chinese leader Xi Jinping through his representatives and he believes in further understanding with the Chinese leader. Reuters wrote this on Monday, January 6.
“We’ve spoken. We’ve spoken through our representatives,” Trump said in an interview with conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt.
At the same time, he described the Chinese leader as “a strong and powerful man who, according to him, is respected in China.”
“And I think we’ll probably get along. But you know, it’s got to be a two-way street,” Trump said, adding that China was “wiping out” the US economically.
We remind you that on the eve of the elections in Belarus, scheduled for January 26, the self-proclaimed President Alexander Lukashenko plans to visit China to strengthen ties with Beijing to support his regime.
Recall that Russian leader Vladimir Putin visited China a few days before the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. In March 2023, Xi Jinping visited Russia. In May of the same year, Putin again visited China, where the country’s leaders signed a statement on a “new era of cooperation.”
