The woman did not turn to medical workers, but began to treat her sick child at home.
In the Carpathian region, a mother will be tried for improper performance of parental responsibilities for not going to the doctors when her one-and-a-half-year-old son fell ill with the coronavirus. The girl died from complications of the disease. This was reported on Friday, December 3, by the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Investigators discovered that the woman had improperly cared for her daughter, who had a congenital disease and required ongoing hospital treatment.
And in March 2024, the mother sent the child with another minor daughter to visit relatives in Ivano-Frankivsk. On the way, the girl caught a cold, and the next day her health condition worsened significantly. However, the mother did not turn to doctors, but treated her independently at home. A few days later, the girl died.
According to experts, the child died from the coronavirus, which caused a complication – general intoxication of the body.
The case was sent to court. A 39-year-old woman was accused of malicious failure to fulfill child care responsibilities, resulting in serious consequences (Article 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The mother faces up to 5 years behind bars.
We remind you that in Kyiv, doctors recorded two deaths resulting from complications of the coronavirus.
In Ukraine, vaccination rates against COVID-19 remain low;
