TOP spoke about returning to acting in ‘Round 6’, playing a complex character, marking a new phase in his artistic trajectory
The highly anticipated second season of ‘Round 6’ brought many surprises, with one of them quickly becoming one of the most talked about topics: the return of TOP (Choi Seung Hyun), former member of BIGBANG, to the world of entertainment. In the role of Thanos, Player 230, the actor brings to life a character that is both eccentric and dark, marking his return to acting after years away from the spotlight.
In the story, Thanos is a retired rapper who lost everything in a cryptocurrency scam. With peculiar behavior and signs of substance abuse, the character carries a complexity that, according to the director, Hwang Dong Hyukrequired courage from TOP.

Although many viewers see Thanos as comic relief in the series’ dark narrative, TOP he sought a different balance, in addition to highlighting that, as a rapper, he tried to bring authenticity to his speeches, without falling into comical or caricatured excesses.
“I wanted him to be unpredictable, someone with a few screws loose,” he explained.
The director was also full of praise for the former BIGBANG member’s performance, stating that the actor exceeded expectations and brought a new layer to the character, saying “As a director, I’m very pleased with what he did with Thanos.”
