The court decided to provide Irina Farion’s daughter Sofia Lichnosti and her two young children with personal protection for a period of two months until March 2, 2025.
During the meeting, Sofia Litsa’s lawyer reported threats on social networks against them. A Public correspondent reported this from the courtroom.
In 2024, Sofia experienced the loss of her mother and husband, who died in the War of Independence in October.
On January 3, the court extended the preventive measure for Vyacheslav Zinchenko in the form of detention for another 60 days. He is accused of murdering Irina Farion.
The prosecutor motivated the request to extend the preventive measure by the fact that the trial of the case has just begun and it is impossible to complete it before the expiration of the previous period of detention, which expires on January 12. The risks, because of which the prosecutor’s office insists on this preventive measure, have not disappeared, but have even increased.
