The head of state believes that the future US president can have a decisive influence on the Russian war against Ukraine.
US President-elect Donald Trump can help Ukraine stop Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, and his personal qualities will help with this. President Vladimir Zelensky said this on Thursday, January 2, during a telethon.
“Trump can be decisive. I think the most important thing for us is that his qualities are there. He can be decisive in this war. He can really stop Putin, or, more honestly, help us stop Putin. He can do it, “said the head of state.
Zelensky added that he had several conversations in meetings and by phone.
“He, I think, is strong and unpredictable, I like President Trump’s unpredictable concern especially with the Russian Federation. I believe he really wants to end the war.
The head of state emphasized that Trump’s victory in the US elections showed that he won “strongly.”
“There are no contradictions in this victory, I think that this is exactly the kind of victory against Russian aggression that his confidence in helping Ukraine and finding these influences needs,” added the Ukrainian president.
In the past, a poll showed that almost half of Ukrainians are confident that Trump’s victory will bring peace closer.
