European countries should not only support Ukraine, but also strengthen their defense capabilities in the face of the Russian threat.
Russia started the new year with a massive drone attack in Ukraine. The Netherlands will continue to support Kyiv. Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced this on Wednesday, January 1, on the social network X.
Brekelmans noted that the Russian attack once again proved the correctness of the Netherlands’ plans for next year to support Ukraine and strengthen its own defense capabilities.
“Continue to support Ukraine against Russian aggression, and at the same time, quickly and significantly strengthen our armed forces in Europe,” the minister emphasized.
As reported, on New Year’s Eve, Russian aggressors deliberately hit the center of Kyiv with suicide bombers. Some residential buildings in the Pechersky district were partially destroyed, and a large fire also broke out – the roof of the National Bank was on fire. Two people died and seven others were injured.
On New Year’s Eve, Russian aggressors launched 111 attack drones and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles across Ukraine. All of them were shot or disappeared from the location.
