Ukrainian citizens who have been in Norway for a long time are more likely to want to stay.
About 47% of Ukrainian refugees surveyed in Norway admitted that they do not want to return to Ukraine even after the war ends. VG wrote this on Saturday, December 28.
They noted that they received the results of a survey among Ukrainians who arrived in the country after the start of the war, conducted by Norway’s Office for Integration and Diversity (IMDi). The results show that only 10% of Ukrainian refugees want to return to Ukraine.
It is also indicated that teenage boys started coming to Norway from Ukraine more often.
In a similar survey published in January 2023, every third Ukrainian refugee said they wanted to stay in Norway. More than half were undecided.
Meanwhile, in Norway, the automatic acceptance of protection for Ukrainian refugees from six regions – Lviv, Volyn, Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Rivne regions has been cancelled.
We remind you that the German government has agreed to a bill that introduces stricter requirements for recipients of social assistance, known as Bürgergeld (“money for citizens”).
Subsequently, it became known that Slovakia will reduce state support for Ukrainian refugees from March 1, 2025.
