At least 47 people were killed when a South Korean plane crashed and was found in the back of the plane.
The cause of the Jeju Air plane crash, according to preliminary data, may be a failure of the landing gear system due to a bird strike. Yonhap reported this on Sunday, December 29, citing preliminary expert opinions.
The accident of flight 7C2216 occurred at 09.07 local time (02:07 Kyiv time) while landing at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do province. The airliner arrived from Bangkok. It skidded off the runway and crashed into a guardrail before breaking in half and bursting into flames.
At least 47 people died as a result of the disaster, their bodies were found in the tail of the plane. Three survived. A total of 181 people were on board, including six crew members.
It was earlier reported that a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok skidded off the runway and crashed into a fence at Muan Airport in South Korea.
As is known, on December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed in Aktau, Kazakhstan, flying on a Baku-Grozny flight. Then 38 people died. A total of 67 people were on board, mostly Azerbaijani citizens.
